The development and validation of a digital clinical decision support system for wound care

By a systematic review and a Delphi procedure, key wound characteristics will be identified to be adopted in a digital clinical decision support system for wound care (CDS). These wound characteristics will be linked to concrete clinical guidelines in wound treatment, followed by a validation process for implementation in clinical practice. This research project is funded by EduWond and is in collaboration with the PWO-project (“digital wound care guide”) of Artevelde University of Applied Sciences.

Development of a Core Outcome Set (COS) for clinical effectiveness trials of bordered foam dressings in the treatment of chronic wounds

The aim of this project is to develop an international consensus on a Core Outcome Set (COS) for clinical effectiveness trials of bordered foam dressings in the treatment of chronic wounds, regardless of the study population. Certain subgroups (children, older adults, palliative care, etc.) that comprise this patient population or certain wounds aetiology subgroups (pressure ulcers, venous leg ulcers, etc.) may require a separate COS. This decision will be made following identification and attribution of outcomes in our systematic review, interviews with key stakeholders, including patients, a two-stage online Delphi consensus study with a global stakeholder group and a consensus meeting.
