SKINT PhD Candidate Presents Research on WoundPilot at the EWMA Conference in Bremen

Steven Smet presented his latest research and publication, Development and Content Validation of WoundPilot: A Clinical Decision Support System for Structured Wound Assessment and Decision-Making, recently published in the Journal of Tissue Viability at the EWMA conference.

The study describes the development and content validation of WoundPilot, an innovative clinical decision support system designed to assist primary care clinicians in wound assessment and management. Developed through a rigorous expert-validation process, WoundPilot provides a structured and holistic framework that supports evidence-based clinical reasoning, standardized wound assessment, treatment planning, and timely referral decisions.

Steven’s presentation sparked engaging discussions on the future of digital decision support in wound care and highlighted the growing role of innovative technologies in supporting evidence-based practice and improving patient outcomes.
