On September 19th, at the EPUAP Annual Meeting in Lyon (France), Prof. Dimitri Beeckman was inaugurated as the 12th President of this international organization.
On 16 May 2019, Dimitri Beeckman and the Skin Integrity Research Group of the UBCV received the Anna Reynvaan Science Prize for their research into the development of an instrument for the classification of incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD). The GLOBIAD was published in the British Journal of Dermatology.
As part of a global ISTAP Classification System validation project, the International Skin Tear Advisory Panel (ISTAP) Classification System has been translated into 15 languages worldwide. The translated skin tear classification tools are now available on our website.
Skin tears are common acute wounds with different levels of severity. An internationally accepted instrument to assess the severity of skin tears with established diagnostic accuracy, agreement, and reliability is needed to support clinical practice and research.
